2011 Quit Smoking Resolution

Highly recommended (I helped develop it), article on a push to get parents to quit smoking starting next year. My Opinion on Cigarette Taxes

Here's an abstract on cigarette taxes and corruption:

Vinataba (BATVJ) is being investigated for allegedly cooking its books between 2006 and 2008, police in the southern province of Dong Nai said Wednesday.

The investigation was launched after an August inspection by the Dong Nai Tax Agency found that BATVJ had signed a contract in January 2006 to purchase support services from BAT Marketing – Singapore (Bat MS).

Among other things the latter allegedly provided support services like quality control of raw materials.

BATVJ, a joint venture between the London-based British American Tobacco company and the Vietnam Tobacco Corporation, is accused of listing the services' fees as part of the company's cost expenditures. Read More.

This company is unique in that they have a subscription service called home delivery subscription. You can choose whatever frequency you need replacement cartridges delivered and opt out anytime. It Has Been Too Long! I'm back!

Sorry for the long gap in posting, I was on a kind of sabbatical throughout Europe. Those countries are very progressive in smoking laws I noticed - that is, you can smoke anywhere outside of the cities. Since I've been gone, however I noticed several developments here at home, including the following:

1) Electronic Cigarette Review Guide;

2) Frequently Updated Blog on E-cigs; and

3) Frequently Updated Blog on Quitting.

I hope you'll find the information on these sites helpful, as I am just beginning to explore them myself. I've recently become Co-chair of an election organization and will be watching Congress closely over the next couple of months. Stay tuned for updates on federal laws about electronic cigarettes and traditional cigarettes too!
